Business of Henna
A lot of the things you need to run a successful henna business are interconnected! We’ll talk about how to figure out your ideal clientele and where/how you can find them, how to present your business in the best possible light once they’ve found you, how to set your prices, how to negotiate contracts and close sales, and so much more. She’s also going to share her contracts, contact forms, and other things that live in her booking system, and figures this is the best place to share the link so you can sign up now in case you’re a hands-on learner who wants to poke around along with her during class:

Turkish Henna Inspirations
The history of the art of henna in Turkey is fascinating! We will talk a bit about what that means for the current state of Turkish henna, and then learn how to include a range of different Turkish elements and layouts in henna designs.

About

HeatherHeather Caunt-Nulton lives between Boston MA and Providence RI, and loves traveling in the name of henna! She has been doing henna professionally for a long time and is excited to share her insights and experiences about how to run a successful henna business. She loves that henna allows us to explore many different cultural traditions, while also allowing us to express our own creativity. She is mostly known as @HennaByHeather on the interweb/socials and sells henna supplies at ArtisticAdornment.com.

Fun facts:

Heather sings (and plays saxophone, hand drum, etc) in the world’s first (/only) Rococo Punk band, The Dandy Highwaymen! She also has an ebook of Rococo-inspired henna designs, because why not.

Heather is a bit obsessed with credit card travel rewards at the moment, and currently holds the much-sought Southwest Companion Pass that lets you bring someone with you for free any time you travel for two whole years! She will gladly tell you more than you probably even really care to know about it if you ask. She thanks Grace of Harmonic Henna for really sending her down the rabbit hole one Spring Fling.

Heather’s two cats, Bagheera and Shere Khan were adopted when a fellow professional pumpkin carver had to rehome them. Yes, those are the names they came with. No, Shere Khan is not at all like his namesake. Bagheera and Shere Khan are brothers, and always hugging and grooming each other.

Heather doesn’t have any photos of Turkish-style henna to show you right now, because she got heavily into the research phase of her obsession with it during the pandemic, and then basically was unable to practice it on others and therefore too depressed to even do it on herself. She promises to have photos of actual Turkish-inspired henna on skin in time for the conference!
